  1. I think the cork is bulging on the middle 88 and thier is a little browning of the label. The other 2 bottles look sound.

I have done a little research – they may still be drinkable!

    Does your dad:

    1. Not drink?
    2. One of those guys that mistakenly thinks white wine is “too effeminate”?
    3. Drinks such opulent wine that he considers this “swill”?
    4. Hates the Fr3nch?

I think I would have drank this well before Newt Gingrich had done his part to ruin the US.

Should be fine but past their prime. Let us know. It won’t hurt you.

Could be good to go, at least the 1er cru and Grand cru. Give it a go! The middle bottle, village level, is the least likely one to have held up.

  5. I’ve had aged whites that were fine into their 40s, and some that were dead after 5. One thing for sure, they’re not going to get better. Open them over christmas — if nothing else, it’s interesting to learn how wines change over decades. Not like they’re going to hurt you, the worst that can happen is they won’t be pleasant.

I can taste the bruised apple from here. Beautiful bottles, even if they’re oxidized, should be worth a couple sips.
