How to enjoy Thanksgiving leftovers, Black Friday

Dinner is served! These tech tips can help you keep your cooking on track and stop your leftovers from spoiling in the fridge.

Problem Solved

While the turkey might be front and center on your Thanksgiving table, everyone knows it’s the side dishes that steal the show.

According to Campbell’s “State of the Sides” 2024 report, 56% of Americans prefer sides to the turkey and 38% would rather have their holiday spread just be side dishes. However, not all accompaniments are created equal.

The report shares that residents in the Southeast prefer sweet flavors and savory herbs; But what is Florida’s favorite fixin’? That’s where Google Trends comes in, releasing its report of the most-searched side dishes and desserts in each state.

The data, which was compiled earlier this month, found the most popularly searched side dishes across the country were casserole, vegetables, pasta/grains, and stuffing. The most-searched baked goods included cake, cookies, pie, and bread.

Florida’s most searched side dish for Thanksgiving is the sweet potato casserole, according to Google Trends data.

A traditional sweet potato casserole is made out of mashed sweet potatoes combined with sugar, butter, milk, vanilla, and eggs. Whether to garnish with toasted marshmallows or sugared nuts is up to the individual.

Along with Florida, four other sides named the dessert-like dish as its favorite; Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
