Amazing dining experience at Rutz, full menu with wine pairing and two supplement courses.
Absolutely divine and amazing service, Falco who runs front of house is extremely personable and friendly, the team kept track of the tiniest details I’d mention and made me feel like a king.

Every dish was a masterclass in innovation, sustainability, and artistry, reflecting Germany’s natural bounty. Combined with their legendary wine pairings, it’s a dining experience I’ll never forget.
The total price was a shock because I had accident agreed to a 200 euro glass of champagne- I am not fancy enough to appreciate paying such an insane amount.

I do feel like a FOH that sells you a 200€ glass of champagne without you realizing it probably doesn’t deserve quite as much praise as you’re heaping on. Such a sharky and inhospitable practice.
Wine list mid. An entire bottle of the Fourny Clos Notre Dame sells for $200 so not only did they rip you off with the “welcome drink”, they fucked you again on the price.
I’ve heard far too many times the horror story with the welcome drink, the last time I was at a *** (De Librije) the wording used was need ambiguous so I didn’t accept it, but they were so generous with their wine pairing that there’s a chance it really was free drink. I think the safe answer is to ask for the wine menu to choose one and if it’s free they’ll let you know, if it isn’t you get to know how much you’ll be spending.
Thanks for including the wines! I would’ve expected more at three star level, tbh, but you can tell some care has been put into the pairings.
Rutz is just great! I’ve been a regular guest since the year they received their second star. Marco Müller and his team offer a very unique approach to dishes and aromas – make sure to visit this place when you’re in Berlin (it’s also worthwhile to check out their more casual “Rutz Zollhaus”, especially in summer).
€200 for a glass of Champagne? I would be very upset if I was sold that casually without mentioning the price. I even don’t think I would pay it. There would be some commotion.
