First time using local butcher and I’m very happy with my steak results.
1.5inch choice grade NY strips:
30 minutes in oven at 350F
Rested for 20 minutes out of oven then seared on high in stainless steel skillet for a couple minutes, flipping often.

Sides are sweet potato gnocchi and potato pancakes.

Perfect bro I’d crush that. Be ready for all the “overcooked” comments.

Before I read that it was gnocchi, I honestly thought you had a side of sauced up spicy nuggets, and I was 100% down for some turf and turf lol!

Remember to cut against the grain next time. It will be easier to chew and make it more tender. Otherwise, great job!

How did every piece of chives have a different size haha

  5. This looks delicious, the sides look very comforting

  6. Crust looks on point. A little on the well side but would definitely smash.

Looks like you did a great job!

The only to nitpick is your knife – doesn’t look sharp enough.

    Looks great!

If I were to nitpick, I would say lower oven temp + longer time for less grey band and use a sharper knife to cut. But that’s just me!

I guess we don’t sear the sides anymore
