my habanero plant is thriving and I'm thrilled about it🤩 anyone have any really good habanero salsa recipes? I usually make a creamy habanero but I think I wanna go more hot sauce type consistency this time? What y'all got? Thanks😌

  1. There’s so much that you can honestly try different things, try fermenting some, but in general you cant go wrong with tomatoes/onion/garlic/cilantro

For something different, I have a banana/orange/hab salsa I’ve been working on. These are *very* rough estimates and not dialed in, so don’t be strict with it.

1.5-2 bananas, sliced and lightly carmelized in a pan

    1-2 oranges, juiced

    3-4 limes juiced

8-10 habaneros (can do less if too spicy)

    2-4 garlic cloves

    Oregano

    Salt

Grate garlic and let sit in lime juice for 5-10minutes, broil/fry habaneros until reasonably black (I typically leave 2-3 raw), add everything to a blender. Can prob add a bit of white onion and/or cumin if you’re feeling it. It’s going to be uber spicy, but with the immense amount of citrus, will calm down considerably in the fridge over night.

It’s a combination of this recipe (https://patijinich.com/banana-and-habanero-salsa/) and one I found in a Mexican cookbook.
