Some kanikama futomaki for my woman (she avoids these most of the time because she’s normally a very disciplined eater, calorie-wise).
Ingredients: Hokkaido yumepirika day old rice from yesterday, re-steamed (yes you can do this, yes it’s legit), large kanikama sticks, kanpyo, denbu, spinach, shiitake, tamago, YMY Special Reserve nori.
Not the same as 김밥 (Korean gimbap). Gimbap’s most conspicuous differences are that 다꽝 aka 단무지 is used instead of kanpyo, the rice is seasoned differently (if at all), and gimbap has sesame oil brushed on the outside (futomaki does not).
