As title suggests, I've got some sorta bug problem, these guys were going great, looking really healthy. Then I noticed they were feeling a bit thin skinned, then over a few days this happens. 1st one I plucked had a little black caterpillar looking thing in it. The 4x in photo above all have maggots or some such slithering around under the skin, poor fellers.
Couple of questions from a total noob.
Is it worth cutting these open to save the seeds, or will they be ruined?
Is it likely the caterpillar looking dude is different to the maggots, or did old mate just grow up faster that his brethren?
My next batch on the tree all look healthy, and one ripened without infection. How do I prevent the next harvest suffering the same fate?
Appreciate any advice people can give me. I've done quite a bit of googling, but I'd love to hear some first hand advice as well!
I'm in Brisbane Australia if that makes a difference.

Looks like simple sun scald, you can see it in your 3rd photo. Give them a bit of shade and see how it goes
