This is only my second time growing chilli’s and first try at anything indoor so try cut me some slack 🙂 they’re under 50w LEDs full spectrum and 4500k white light. Heat mats underneath set at 28c and humidity seems to sit around 70%. All the seedlings sprout at random times and as you can see some are thriving but then the next morning one might die and I can’t seem to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated

Once they sprout, take them out of the dome and off the heat mat. It will kill them to stay in those conditions.
Those are really small cells to use with a heating mat that’s on full-time. I suspect that you are drying out, from the bottom up, and frying some of the most, ahem, friable roots.
Maybe dial back the mat some, water more frequently, or run the heat mat intermittently.
Natural evolution… the strongest survive.
+1 for don’t leave ‘em there once sprouted
Just based of your original info and picture…
Your seed starter mix looks WAY dry.
Do this:
-Wipe the humidity done off daily.
-Give them babies 5-10 min fresh air daily.
– If yer gonna leave them in the seed starter tray after sprouting, you need to have 100+ watts on them and 200-300 PPFD.
-You can keep the heat mat on, as long as it doesn’t get above 85°.
– Full spectrum LED is where it’s at. Get there! ($50)….
Why the red light? I thought blue and/or green light was better for staring seeds. I’m also new to this so I am trying to learn what is the best lights to use.
A different potting soil with more fines helps i find…sometimes i just sift the regular stuff and sometimes i add some sand… helps make it easier for the little guys… if you are mixing add a little compost…
