Kind of having a hankering for this lately. I've found two Turkish places that have it: Istanblue in Midwood and Cafe Mekan in Ridgefield, NJ.

I've also found a giant block/tube of frozen kokorecs at Mediterranean Foods in Astoria, a Greek supermarket.

The Turkish places are about $20 for a "street food" sandwich. That's a far cry from what I paid on Istikal Caddesi in Istanbul.

The Greek one would probably be more cost-effective since it's all meat, for $40 iirc, but I'd have to prepare it, and I barely know how.

Has anyone else had any of these? (I did a search.) Do you know of any other places? Are the Greek and Turkish versions much different? Do any greek restaurants serve gardouba?

Thanks!
