So I recently discovered that the 35 lbs oil lids fit kitchen squeeze bottles. I've been removing the small paper/cardboard circle and now no more saran wrap wrapping bottles.

Is this common knowledge because it should be.

I love it. Now I’ll get labeled as crazy for saving them until I show the crew! I’m the person who always cleans the fryer… it’ll get you out of a lot of deep cleaning stuff to take on that dirty task. Be efficiently lazy.

It goes the other way too, you can put the squeeze nozzle on the big oil jugs and become a god.

    thats a standard size

if you really wanna go crazy, stick one of the squeeze bottle caps on a gallon of sweet babys rays bbq sauce,

it fits perfectly and it does work…. somewhat

I also came to realize this on my own a few years ago. I thought it was a revelation, nobody else in the kitchen gave a shit. Fuck those guys.

A cook showed me this back in 1995. I love the looks of awe when I show others.

Those lids also fit a lot of brand name sauce bottles. Watched a dude slap one on franks and it blew my mind

You still probably won’t label and date correctly though.

Now at the end of your shift put a squeeze bottle lid on the 35L and tell night shift you stocked lol

  14. Now.

Drill a hole in middle of the lid.

    You’re welcome.

That’s how I keep my backup sauce bottlesn I learned it years ago but never really came in handy until this spot and godDAMN is it a game changer!

  16. This is like the “oh shit” moment I had when I found out (perhaps from a post on this sub, I can’t recall) that the lids to plastic containers of shake parm, the ones with both a wide mouth and holed opening, are standardized with Mason jars.

I showed this to a buddy of mine, and he got a real vacant look and simply said, “I’ve been throwing those away for over twenty years.”
