I did this with pulled pork and cornbread recently as a mere sandwich and would consider if either a cornbread or a legit cake savory would work.
Like you could fill a lemon poppyseed ring cake with whatever you want. I’ve seen some sick empanadas with like saltfish and guava and cheese and shit. Or think of some examples of croque monsieur with the heavy sugar etc.
