No matter what dressing/ingredients I'm just not a salad person and cooking veggies takes to long sometimes. I feel great after consuming a big smoothie stuffed with veggies though. Not currently counting calories but getting back into the swing of it by starting to make healthy choices before going full bore.

Personally I like chewing for a long time cause I end up feeling fuller by the end of it. But whatever works for you is always what’s best!
My solution is to not use kale or celery in my salads…being in a deficit is hard enough
…now include having to chug blended up greens…uh, id much prefer not to do that. You should find veggies you actually enjoy and learn how to prepare them well because chewing for that long isn’t common imo.
I like making stews with all sorts of vegetables especially now it’s cold out, perfect weather for something savory and warm
Well to start skip the kale and celery, salads can be so much more
I would hate this so much, lol. But to each their own.
I hate all veggies for the longest time (mostly a texture thing) and have only recently started incorporating them into my diet. Definitely still a work in progress, but so happy that I now have at least a handful of veggies I actually enjoy eating.
I love this idea, but but curious if you only put vegetables or add anything to season them? In the summer, I like to make gazpacho in the blender because the vinegar and salt give it lots of flavor.
I don’t do that but am curious. Do you have a particular recipe you use? Do you add any liquids? Seasonings or spices? I’d really like to know if you could drop a reply around this.
Edit: fixed ‘stop’ to ‘drop’
I’m gonna have to try this, veggies suck
Why not roast and puree and make into a soup? Easy to eat and tasty.
I’m not a salad person. When I do make a salad, I don’t use lettuce because cold, wet greens are not my thing. Savory smoothies don’t appeal to me much, but I loved steamed vegetables and will eat a huge bowl of that any time.
Omg I thought I was the only one who does this 🤣 I have TMJ issues so salads are actually painful for me. I also find that I consume way more veggies this way. Throw in 1/4 cup of frozen fruit blend and blended greens actually taste pretty good.
Not me. I love a well made salad, especially if you throw in some protein in there. Although if I had the extra time, I would totally juice veggies and chug that for the nutritional benefits.
Yall need to stop treating kale like lettuce and start treating it like collard greens. They r soooo bitter. Cook them down and serve them with black eyed peas. Or idk whatever ppl outside the south do to bitter vegetables.
People who hate salads usually dont season them. Salt and Pepper is a cheat code for veggies.
Kale’s nutrients are better absorbed if cooked a bit…
Cook them, blend them with cottage cheese and pesto…. pour over pasta
I’ve been known. I like salads better but is be lying if I said I’ve never tried to make a bell pepper smoothie work.
I love smoothies!!
I thought I was the only one who can’t get into salads no matter what. But the top comment has a great suggestion on how to incorporate veggies into diet by making soups. Will be doing that.
So….green smoothies….kinda
Absolutely not. Gotta savor all of it. The process of eating and the ceremony will be my downfall.
This is kind of insane but I love it. Curious if you put anything else in or is it veggies all the way down?
think the way to like veggies is to find ones you like and season them
like i hate courgette kale spinach but love roasted broccoli or stir fried veggies, pumpkin is also one of my faves, but try get me to eat pepper raw or cooked no thank you 😂
I throw mine in a protein shake ..
Genius, why didnt I think of this *grabs blender*
I love salads. The perfect companion to a meat.
Everyone is giving you crap, but I do the exact same thing. I usually blend broccoli and spinach, add a little water so it goes down smoother, and chug.
I’m with you OP
In theory, I’m 100% with you on this.
In practice: who hurt you?
thought this was 1200isjerky 😭
Try different veggies! I don’t like kale, celery and tough leaves in general. But I love frisée, endives and baby spinach as salad bases.
Cooked veggies doesn’t need to take long. I nuke broccoli, cauliflowers and cabbages for 5-10 minutes and they’re like 80% of my meals.
I also like veggies that are botanically fruits. They tend to be super low in calories per unit weight: tomatoes, cucumbers, aubergine, zucchini, bell peppers, etc.
Honestly, whatever helps get the veggies in is a win in my book!
Oh boy do I have feelings about salad. I fucking hate them. They’re bullshit. They’re just a bowl of leaves with shit on top. And by the time you’re nearly finished with it, the topping to leaves ratio is always wildly out of proportion! And that’s if you can keep the toppings from falling off your fork! All that, just to be hungry again an hour later because salad is all volume and no substance, but you still get fat anyway because the only way to make it palatable is to drown it with dressing.
I make smoothies all the time though. But I eat them out of a bowl instead of drinking them because cold fruit soup feels like a meal, but a smoothie feels like a drink and my brain wants to eat food.
No.
There’s a controversy recently that if you blend any fruits or veggies whatever sugar it has will go straight your blood stream and worsen insulin. And the fiber is disrupted. For best vitamin intake you would have to eat it raw as possible. I heard that kale chips still give full benefit as raw. Edamame and greens beans have to be cooked fully and any cooked veggies in general have to be cooled down for it to return to its natural best state.
100% and I fucking love it. Predictably, every person I have told about it was mortified.
