My boyfriend got me an Anova Pro for Christmas and I decided to try some Beef Tenderloin. I got a whole PSMO loin and got quite a few 5oz filets. I served with wild rice blend, roasted Mediterranean veggies, shrimp and a garlic and herb compound butter. Probably the best steak I've ever had! (And I work at a Chophouse) I used the Anova app and just selected a pre done recipe. Couldn't have been easier! I'm so ready to explore more

    Great for your first SV cook! Keep reading/cooking to improve your sear. You’ll find great tips on that in this sub. (Cast iron and Stainless Steel being the norm in here. I’m looking into buying SS)

    A tip I see a lot in here: don’t put garlic in your bag as it may cause some sort of illness (I dunno). The community says that in the bath the temp isn’t high enough and there are some toxins released. I don’t do it because of the better taste when basting the steak instead of using it in the bag.
