January is dedicated to moderately priced Napa Cabs and first out is Clos du Val Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022.

Tobacco, wood, plum, black currant, full body, soft but present tannins, also gets some licorice, quite powerful but short finish.

Really like this one, not to jammy, over oaked or sweet, the label/artwork also stands out.

I enjoy the wine as well. I think they could market it better to the younger drinkers who seek approachable wines such as this. The wine stands apart from the rest of the Stags Leap AVA with a silkier tannic experience.

This is a solid steadfast Napa cab to have in the house. A tad expensive for what it is, tho.

While expensive, the tasting experience at Clos du Val was a lot of fun. Good wine and full of tons of Napa Valley history. Really enjoyed it.
