So, hubby ordered this book for me (probably tired of me complaining about the bread i make lol). A little bothered that this is the condition the book showed up in but rather than returning it, im diving in! Wish me luck

It’s a great book. Martin Phillip, the bread ambassador for KA is a great teacher and has many helpful videos on YouTube, some of which are for the recipes in that very book

It’s so good! I love it.

My wife bought it for me. The not so average sandwich bread is amazing. I made a French loaf too. It wasn’t bad.

My copy had a scrunched corner that looked like someone dropped it. It doesn’t affect the recipes and I figure the book will look “well loved” soon enough. Heck, a couple of the pages on the apple and honey challah stick together from something the last time I baked that.
You’re going to love this book! There is a great variety of recipes in it.

I got this book and it’s sooo beyond good. I’m a beginner and I feel like this is the only book that’s taught me to make sense of bread making

I got it last week (also LOVED KA’s Baking School book – it’s what taught me to bake) and it’s awesome. Just think – you’re going to cover it in flour soon enough anyway!

I got it for Christmas and it’s LEGIT. The everyday French loaf is my favourite bake ever now.

Just got this for Christmas. The bagel recipe I have done a few times (from YouTube but it’s in the book). Really great recipe!

It’s great. I’ve made a couple different loaves from it already. Hope to do another tomorrow.
It’s a great resource.

I have it and love it! Started the sourdough process for the Birdseed Bread today, I’m excited to see how it turns out!

I just tried the pizza dough recipe on the package of 00 KA pizza flour. Soooo good. I don’t know if it was the flour or the recipe; but the dough was perfect. Much better than the FWSY recipe I’ve used in the past.

Stoked to see everyone enjoying it. That worn corner on arrival is a bummer—if it came from KA you should give CS a holler. They’re the best in the business. Lots of great recipes, too many to list, but here are a couple that might get overlooked. The masa bread—incredible corn flavor and a little honey. Don’t sleep on it—I’ve written a ton of breads with cornmeal but nothing has the corn flavor that the masa brings. Mel Wanders wrote that one. Focaccia di Recco—quick and really delivers on a crispy, thin, cheesy bake. (The di Recco style is thin like a tortilla.) Olive and preserved lemon. I’ve been playing with these flavors for a while and was finally able to push a recipe through and into print. The nose on it is somewhere in the panettone realm for me—incredible citrus aromas. I wrote a quick home process for the lemons that is flavorful but not too bitter (as the store versions of preserved lemons can be). Also the marble rye. I was craving a bread that was basically a hybrid of standard marble rye, deli rye, and challah. I also wanted it to be beautiful so I swirled it and added a good crust treatment (Team Caraway, y’all). OK, one more and I’ll stop. Mel wrote that babka that nods to Baklava flavors. It’s just little sweet and perfumed with just a whiff of rose. Another one that literally disappears on the bench—people just plow through it. Thanks for the love, y’all. You can hit me with questions here if you have any. Happy Baking, M

I bought this book for myself for Christmas. Spent the day flipping through the pictures! I haven’t made anything from it yet, but my favorite recipe of theirs so far is the Vermont Sourdough

I got it a month ago, loving it so far. The semolina sandwich loaf quickly became one of the family’s favorites.

I keep seeing this book pop up. I’m going to have to order it.

Just picked that up at the library minutes ago. I’d dive in and still request a new copy.

Channel your inner middle school student and make a cool brown bag cover for it…bonus points if you or someone is artistic and you can draw your own fancy cover on it!

As long as there’s words and pages, it doesn’t matter if it’s tore from the edge

I make the KA multigrain bread for our family every week. I love it. I often add sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame, walnuts, raisins, whatever I have and fancy.

My mom bought it for my birthday in two weeks. Amazon delivered it yesterday by setting it in the snow next to my garage. All the other couriers leave packages on my front porch that’s protected from the elements, so argh. I didn’t see it until today. The paper packaging was moist. My daughter opened it to rewrap it and said it wasn’t wet but there is some waviness of the paper. Yes, I am not supposed to open my present until my birthday even though I know exactly what it is.

I got this book for Christmas last year and it had the same exact damage, same spot, as yours! But doesnt change the contents, great book!

Looks like someone took the title *Big Book of Bread* too literally and figured an experimental corner bite was called for.

I just made the (not so) basic white sandwich bread a couple hours ago.. it’s fantastic. My only complaint is that I didn’t make 2 loaves.. between the family and myself.. it’s almost gone.
I made the honey-masa toasting bread a couple days ago.. also fantastic. It’s like cornbread and sandwich bread had a delicious baby.
Edit: Oh! And the focaccia! I’ve been using Claire Saffitz focaccia from dessert person. It’s really good… But this one looked a bit easier. I gave it a try and it was delicious. I topped it with the tomato, garlic, thyme from dessert person. 🤌 Fantastic
