does anyone know what brand the pan with the blue handle is?
Grass fed beef. Watch out for PFAS. Forever chemicals.
> secret ingredient > soy sauce. I got another umami bomb secret ingredient for beef stews of all kinds: anchovies, blitzed with an immersion blender in your chicken broth/water. Got the idea from J Kenji Lopez Alt in his "really good beef stew"
Eh cheese is an oficial condiment.
Awesome – a Biletnikoff reference! Those were the days…
I never do not think "gulag" when i hear goulash.
I made the chicken and sausage orzo tonight. I managed to get a little orzo stuck to the bottom of the pot, but otherwise went great. Very tasty.
"Who are you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes??" 😂
I make the chicken sausage orzo about once a week. It's so good.
I love all of your recipes! Thank you so much for showing me how to make such tasty food. I don't buy frozen dinners anymore yay!
I thought dish 1 was fajitas. That's what I make for a one skillet meal solution with some of these ingredients. The second one I though would be a standard beefy noodle from scratch. That's something that I do. If you add sour cream and mustard to beef noodle, it runs into a decent stroganoff instead. The Chicken and Sausage with Rice looks interesting. I was thinking about doing my own version of this with a mushroom sauce and bratwurst. Chicken Noodle Soup is great, though I find I like Chicken and Dumplings better. It takes mostly the same ingredients plus heavy cream and flour. Dumplings can be made by just kneeding water with flour and salt, cut and dropped into the soup. Yum! Goulash is a thing that I haven't made in a REALLY long time. I think I probably will next month. But then again, Chili Mac is tempting too. ☺☺☺☺
I have 3 flatula's in my big utensil jar, because they are THE most used in my kitchen and I need backups for my backups! Thanks for the one pot ideas, looking forward to more of them for sure. Also, I think it might be a crime to use high end expensive hamburger in good old cheap goulash. Just sayin 😉
I have never been successful at making the Stroganoff. Every time I get to the part where the mushrooms are beautiful, I eat them.
Id say, for the first one, add a cup of sweet corn. with juice,
I need to buy a flatula. I am working towards a well stocked kitchen.
I've been looking for easier ways to eat at home after working all night (in a restaurant, surrounded by tasty but very decadent, rich food). This seems like a good way to start getting into cooking when tired. Way less cleanup.
Flatula? nooooooo Oh my goodness that made me laugh
Excellent!! Thank you!
Happy 2025 Chef John.
1:16 Oh no, I don't want any flatula in my dishes!
thanks John! One Chef to another, I've been pondering tailgate eintopfs for apres ski, while we sit around a little firepit enjoying the end of the day. My Greek chicken & orzo with spinach will round out the group, I think. Easy to do, easy to have the ingredients in a box along with the few utensils needed, and the perishables in a small cooler! I think this is gonna work great!
Chef John, you are the David Hasselhoff of my one pot stroganoff.
Chef John, could you do a lobster risotto recipe?
You are fantastic at what you do, but… Woucestershire sauce is not pronounced whooster-shire sauce. It's just "whooster" sauce. Other town spellings… Leicestershire – it's just "Lester". Gloucester is "Gloster", etc.
Anyone know what pot he’s using for the beef stroganoff
whaddya mean you people
Your one pot meals are my favorites
Sweet! Can you make one 5-pot dinner next?
One pot goulash as you made it is also great with drained/rinsed red kidney beans/green peppers or even a jalapeno added. Love this with cilantro/sharp cheddar and some lime.) We call it a dressed up chili with pasta.) Have done this also with leftover brisket and that was divine!!!
I prepared FOUR of these yesterday for my client. Delicious!
Why not beef broth or vegetable broth….. it’s a beef dish…..
so american goulash is just hamburger helper?
i am disapoint
This recipe looks AMAZING!
Now I’m craving goulash. I’ve made my mother in law’s version for years, but I need to try yours now!
I will NOT be calling my flat wooden spoon a flatula!! 😂
The one-pot Chicken Sausage and Orzo has been a staple of my work lunchbreaks for years ever since the first post.
21:25 "oh yeah first pun of the year, don't worry they get worse" LMAO🤣
