Was on a work trip during my birthday so I treated myself to a really nice meal. Shoutout to the chefs at The Shota for a memorable and delicious meal—I would gladly go back and celebrate with them again! Easily one of the better omakases I’ve had in the US.

Service was great from the chefs—kind, funny, and really proud of their craft. There were two diners seated to my left that let their nigiri sit on their plates for 5-10min pretty much the whole meal…and the head chef was obviously a little annoyed, but the chef serving us did a great job pacing despite them. There was also a member of the support staff having some pretty unprofessional chats with the two diners but I guess I just played the part of audience that night 🍿.

  8. I think this was a snapper but I forgot
  9. Breaded lightly cooked king mackerel. The dipping sauces were tasty
  10. That akami from earlier
  11. Toro
  12. Signature saba roll with green onion
  13. Tamago and chestnut ice cream (yes, chef, I do really like chestnuts ☺️)
