They might be the best Indian restaurant straight up on Curry Hill.

Nonetheless, I’ve been there twice and Curry in Hurry probably a dozen times (partly because we live around there and the latter is open whenever). Value matters these days, and it’s clear there’s not much of a place for upmarket table service restaurants on Lexington now. Even a meal at the cheaper places runs nearly $20 now.

  2. That’s very unfortunate. It’s my favorite of the spots in the area.

  3. Noo! This was our favorite Thali place in the city. Been going there since I moved to NYC in 2015 🙁

    Noooooo! I loved this place.

Anyone know what “closing this location” means? Are they going to move to a catering model or something? The phrasing seems less terminal than it could be.

  5. No!!! Legitimately so sad, this is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Manhattan.

What’s the best alternative for the lunch Thalis? Anything else as good or better than Pippali? That was such a good meal for under $20.
