Green onion for me, white onion would take over too much of the flavor I think.

Green yes, pickled yes, raw….only if the cut/trim/prep was more than just diced. Slivered, Julliened, hell I’d be game to use a mandoline and shave them until transparent

I love onions on almost everything. I also enjoy how, in some Lebanese or maybe Afghan places, they serve just a quarter of an onion with the food to bite into.
