Depends on who you talk to, among avid bakers it’s great, some might like it even darker.
But there was a discussion in the Bread Baker’s Guild forum last year in which commercial bakers said that the loaves they prefer, with lots of caramelization, tend to sit on the shelf while the pale tan ones sell out.
