This place reminds me of homecooking growing up in Hong Kong. This was for 7 people and the bill before tips (after tax) was $211. Including tips was around $35 per person. The steam fish was around $25 that could easily be $40 elsewhere. Highly recommend this place if you can get pass the no frills.
- Steam bass with ginger scallions
- Steam tilapia with black bean sauce
- Salt and pepper soft shell crab
- Salt and pepper wings
- Garlic bok choy
- Bean curd sauce pea pod tip

Forgot about the five spiced duck
Best kept secret in Chinatown. Love that place. The duck is almost as good as Sun Wah, but GP’s sauce is better!
Please delete this OP because i’m gatekeeping this place lol
I don’t know how they make their scrambled eggs, but they are additively good. When luffa is in season, their丝瓜炒蛋is my favorite
That’s a serious food block! GP, Ricobenes and the good Carbón.
That soft shell crab 🤤 their dishes are so simple but well executed
Woah, two whole fish dishes. Fancy!
Is there anything gluten free here? It’s Chinese so I’m guessing not, butttt…
Warning though, they are truly a hole in a wall/no frills (the floor carpeting probably hasn’t been replaced in decades and sometimes has a old mop smell). My favorite is their five spice duck and the potato leaves dish (not a common vegetable at other cantonese restaurants!). The parking lot is also small and cramped and they close early. The wife I think that is the owner is the waitress and sometimes she gets busy/panicked and I think her husband does the cooking!
I always wondered about this place whenever I go to Ricobene’s
Only sort of related, but W 25th Pl, just north of there, is a very cool block from which you can see every layer of the city. Bonus for being the melding point of Chinatown and Italian Bridgeport (see: Italian flag fire hydrants, Chinese script).
Thanks op I’ve been looking for new spot in Chinatown. Where else is some hidden gem in Chinatown? I just went to yummy yummy noodles I thought it was pretty good cheap eats
every Chinese knows and loves 口福阁. I surprisingly love the pork belly and pepper(jalapeño?) dish. So simple but well prepared.
Are you Nancy? Because this photo was posted by her on google reviews 2 days ago lmfao
