This rib roast was $26 so I made some steak au poivre at 3 am. Was delicious but curious what others might think of it.

    I love steak au poivre. I usually make extra peppercorn sauce when I make it to use as a sandwich dip too

    Looks great! I like the amount of peppercorn sauce, great stuff but so many of these use so much sauce that it feels like the dish would taste the same if the meat was pot roast or a gorgeous steak.

    Beautiful Crust
    Nice rare
    And most importantly well rendered fat.
    I can see this was a high quality piece based on the “threading” (I don’t know how to explain it in English) which shows it’s extremely tender and juicy!

    You made the sauce with freshly ground pepper?
    I also add some wet fresh peppercorns on the pan I seared in.
