QUINCY (WGEM) – It’s the season of giving and a Quincy organization continues that holiday spirit.

The Salvation Army at the Kroc Center is planning its annual holiday meal on Christmas Day.

The dinner starts at 11 a.m. and has been a staple for the Salvation Army for many years. The organization plans to deliver more than 100 meals, while serving hundreds more in person. Organizers said they’re beyond grateful for the people who make this possible.

“We’re just so thankful for the volunteers who come and make this day possible as well, because we can’t do it on our own. It’s a whole army of volunteers who come together to make sure that nobody’s forgotten in our community,” said Capt. Rich Forney, Quincy Area commander of The Salvation Army.

Traditional food will be served, such as ham, corn, potatoes, and desserts.

The meal will last until 1 p.m. To dine-in, it does not require advanced registration.
