Hi folks,
Young "sommelier" need yours help. Found this beauty in local supermaker for funny 50e and decided to open it for my mother's 50s birthday. Never tried that old sparkling wines, champanges, the oldest was from 2013.
Bubbles were very tiny, and when i opened it you could hear co2 very silent, it didnt make "boom".
Taste, not that long as some younger vintages which i tried.
What should i really expect from that?
Cheers!

The small bubbles and less fizz (less boom) are to be expected. Same with the finish. The citrus notes and notes that you would get from the acidity typically very present in a younger champagne and part of what contributes to the long finish that you’re missing will turn into more carmelized notes the longer the wine ages. Think praline, nuts, oxidative notes like that. What a steal for 50 euros!
