If you enjoy having podi with idlis and dosas try out this variation. This can also be used to make sesame masala rice or just have the podi with hot plain rice with ghee on top. Tastes heavenly. It can be used to spice up your curries and stir fries as well.

INGREDIENTS
Chana Dal – 2 tbsps
Urad dal – 2 tbsps
Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
Dry red chillies – 7 or 8
Pepper corns – 1 tsp
Tamarind – lemon size
Dessicated Coconut – 1 tbsp
Sesame seeds – 3 tbsps
Asafoetida / hing – 1/4 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder for colour – 1 tsp or more (optional)
