Currently my favorite sushiya in New York, during my recent visit I was the only person there for the 5:30pm seating. Itamae Marco Lin is super friendly and his tamago is as good as it gets, think Japanese flan.

    Akagai is a rare treat in the states. Haven’t been to this place yet but it’s now on my list

    Beautiful food and photography! Was this 8 courses or were there more pieces that weren’t photographed? $250 for 8 pieces would be a little steep for my tastes, but add a few more courses and I’ll come around

    Marco Lin trained at Ginza Onodera (**) for a few years. Super nice guy. I think Mumi and Ikumi would be my top picks in the ~$250 range in NYC.
