Yeah…. Dunno why, but.. I can only eat deer jerky..
Any other method and .. my stomach doesn’t like it.

Curious what you didn’t like about it? Someone used to beef might find deer to be a bit gamey. Assuming that you’re into deer though, the next problem is just how lean that meat is going to be versus good old 80/20 beef.
I’d recommend either blending in some finely diced onions, or possibly frying the burger in a little fat, possibly bacon grease. You may also need to season a little more heavily than you’d expect with beef.

That’s impressive! Trying something new like that takes courage, even if it didn’t win any taste competitions.

“Not winning any taste competitions” but you’re in here telling everyone it was great and there are none left. The headline makes it sound like the burger sucked. This is such a confusing post lmao

My grandad was a hunter. They tricked me into eating venison burger as a kid lol. But Ive had them as an adult and they were tasty.

Cut your ground venison with 70/30 ground beef and season well. Also, let your deer hang in the cooler for 4 or 5 days before processing. That’ll help with tenderness and gaminess.

Needs to be mixed, beef fat and bacon helps

Try adding pork to the grind and / or ham.

Mix it with pork! I take my venison grind and mix it 50/50 with ground pork. That makes a damn tasty burger
