Just picked up a used 22in kettle. Does anybody know the size screw for the wheels to legs? And does the handle need bolts to stay in place?

The wheels go on an axle basically and get held on by these little push on type locking things. But for the wheels I’d just take a wheel to the hardware store and see what fits, you can replicate the original design with some threaded rod and some washers and nuts. I dont remember how the handle attaches but if the handle has threaded male bolts attached again take that to any hardware store and they have a nut/bolt thing you can check the threads and buy accordingly. Alternatively you can order all OEM parts directly from Weber but I imagine that won’t be cost effective.

Not affiliated with Amazon, so I’m not going to post a direct link. But this description should get you there if you search. Worked on my kettle.

You have the triangle, go to your local weber shop and get new nuts for nearly nothing and get cooking

  4. Another option. Call Weber. They may be able to get you the exact parts.

I believe the handle can attached with a 1/4-20 and a 1/2” threaded rod for the axle. IMO I would only use SS screw for the handle attachment. I am not a fan of zinc or galvanized plated items inside a heated chamber with my food. We ingest enough chemicals elsewhere.
