Continuing from my previous post and introducing the 2nd place on our ranking throughout our trip. It’s Locavore NXT. I had the possibility to visit their first location couple of years ago, and back then I still had a good impression of the restaurant. Returning back after their relocation, I can now say that this restaurant is easily one of the best we ever been, everything was top notch. The new space really is unique and showing the best Bali has to offer. The food style remains the same style , very much based on Balinese produce and cooked in a sort of western modern way(loads of similarities to Noma for me). We really loved the tour of the space and the introduction from one of the chefs. Drinks were great too, but the food really stood out. The ethos and idea that is behind Bali, really makes us wanna go back next year.

I absolutely hate the look of that second dish. It reminds me of the frog that carries the babies on its back until it gives birth
All of these dishes look as though they would have been quite at home in the old restaurant. Do you know what has changed for Locavore NXT, other than relocation?
Also, hope you went to Room4Dessert when you were in Ubud!
Interesting. Glad you had a good experience. I went to the first location and was severely unimpressed. +1 to Room4Dessert!
Great restaurant, we went while we were Honeymooning in Bali. The food was fantastic and the drink pairing really stood out. Service was amazing too.
