Went yesterday for wife’s birthday. It was an awesome experience from the moment you enter and walk down the stairs to the restaurant from street level to the seating process. It’s just an amazing place.
Food was excellent and incredibly tasty. We all loved everything but stars would be the bbq baby back ribs and of course the hand made soup dumplings which these people in the glass room literally make non stop.
I got their version of old fashioned and that was great too. I believe their original location has received Michelin stars and I can’t imagine this will be without one for long.
Servers are great and will help you avoid over ordering and are just generally great.

I’ve lived here my entire life. Never heard of this place. But somehow I ended up there yesterday. I do remember I used to go to parties here 15+ years ago when it was called Mars 2112
We were at one of the big round tables in the semi private back room.
What can I say besides I was very impressed with the entire operation.
Since I had no clue what I was getting into, my default setting for an establishment like this was P.F. Chang’s or Tao’s. Instead, what was delivered was a very sublime meal with subtle tastes, nothing overly greasy or heavy. Even the nonalcoholic drink offerings like Matcha milk or honey lemonade with Boba were all very good.
The space itself is caverness, HUGE, and the place at 11 AM on a cold Jan Saturday was PACKED. We drove, but found a parking garage across the street for only $20 for the three hours we were there (via SpotHero app).
I’m not sure DTF counts as fine dining?
i am not sure that michelin star equates fine dining. quite a few streetfood places also have michelin stars (very deservedly). dtf is more a casual dining chain imo….
DTF is a great restaurant/brand but it is by no means fine dining.
1. It’s a chain, several major cities have a location, some not so major ones in CA
2. It’s food is good, but the presentation and service is by no means “fine”
It’s a high end Chinese restaurant known for their soup dumplings.
