I have two plants in my office at work: a newer Carolina Reaper and a habanero plant. The habanero was planted back in August and has only been watered about once a week since then. I know this has likely hindered its growth to some extent, but I’m not too worried because it’s turned into a monster in terms of width. It’s only about 2 ½ feet tall, but it’s roughly 4 feet wide!

I recently went through and used several stakes to prop up branches that were draping over the Reaper plant next to it.

The first photo is from when I initially planted it, and the last two are after I finished staking.

My question is: has anyone actually benefited from trimming out the bushiness of a plant like this?
