  1. Sarges or 2nd ave has a better pastrami?

Lived in the neighborhood 6+ years now and have never been

Why would you ruin that fantastic sandwich with a pile of raw onion?

People say this is better than Katz’s?

    Really?

Are we certain that’s not corned beef

I know Rye is traditional, but I always feel like twin rolls or an onion roll (hard to find) stand up to a pastrami sandwich much better once you add mustard or anything else.

There’s a ton of haters in this comment section. Sarges’s does their pastrami thinly sliced. It’s still delicious, and just as good as any other delicatessen in NYC. Best part is that there isn’t a 2 block line to get in.

  7. The only reason people on this sub say Sarge’s is better than Katz is just because they’re being Reddit Contrarians.

Sarge’s! I think Sarge’s is one of the best Jewish (not kosher) delis left in Manhattan. And their pierogis are deadly but fire

  9. That’s definitely corned beef. Sarge’s pastrami is top 3 in the city behind Katz’s and David’s brisket house.

That shit so small it looks like it fell off a real sandwich

Sad looking sandwich. The onions, the mid dry ass meat and presentation.

Idk something seems off, the color doesn’t look right to me

  13. Cold rings of raw onion do not belong on sandwiches ever.

They’re stingy, now they won’t even give you free pickles and coleslaw unless you order a sandwich. Used to always come with anything.

When I lived in the EV 15 years ago I’d be at Katz’s 3 times a week. Now I just go to Sarge’s and avoid the nonsense of waiting.
