A friend and I have tried tea service all over. The Peninsula is by far the best. I’ve been a few times. This was their special holiday tea. Biggest hits were the salmon sandwich and the Peninsula Reuben sandwich. Among the sweets, the best was the red ornament (cranberry on a ginger cookie). Scones were fresh and warm. They give you a bellman’s cap mini cake to take home.

I took my friend’s here when they visited. It was lovely. And so filling, even though it was expensive. I would do this again in a heartbeat….
Oh I would love to see your list of all the teas you’ve done.
I’ve only done one and I loved it so much but the food was mids. It was at Los Rios in Orange County.
How much was this tea?
I’ve been to tea service there, hotel bel air, and regent Beverly wilshire (discontinued now). Where else would you recommend I try?
Been there it’s great
is every guest served their own clotted cream or are you forced to share?
Omg I love that spot
My favorite dining experience in LA. Hands down.
Thanks OP, I’ve been thinking about going here because I’m a tea fan. Sounds like you’re mainly paying for the pastries and ambience and less so for the tea itself.
Thanks for posting this. Gotta check it out! Is it difficult to get a reservation?
Afternoon bubbly
This place is up there for us. But Langham is our favorite and has been so far after visiting at least a dozen other places.
We’re going here today with my daughter! 🤩
We did Christmas tea at the proper in Santa Monica and it was excellent
This is my favorite afternoon tea in LA. I went again a few weeks ago and it’s still so elegant and a perfect experience
I love love love afternoon tea! I’ve gone for afternoon tea (and thank you for not calling it “high tea”) everywhere from the Dorchester, to Culzean Castle, to Melbourne and Auckland. Afternoon tea at the rose garden cottage at the Huntington is about as good as it gets anywhere, and the Peninsula looks grand, too!
The Peninsula bar used to be it
that looks wonderful, wow! 🤩
I love high tea here. Just a relaxing environment 🌸
Everyone I know that’s been here raves about it. I look forward to taking my daughter when she’s older.
Went for this Christmas afternoon tea a couple years ago and was sorely disappointed. The sandwiches were dry and felt like it was sitting out for a while since they serve everyone all at once. The desserts weren’t great either. Hit or miss. I took the cake home and that wasn’t good either.
Beautiful spot. Tea was fine. Service was on point. But food was not good at all when I went :/
Maybe it’s improved?
Have tried the tea rooms in old town Pasadena?
