Steak au poivre. Though a bastardized version, as I used sirloin instead of filet mignon. What am I, made of money?

Looks good to me. It’s not the money involved but the love the cook puts in.

Sorry, but it looks like my cat puked on it…

You broke your sauce but the steak looks great

  4. That’s not a steak au poivre, that’s a steak with peppered cottage cheese on top. BUT I bet it was delicious! 🤤

Broken sauce or not, nice effort! Broken sauces look worse than they taste, they’re still edible, but not perfect. I’ve had au piovre with several cuts and it’s been great, multiple ways. Fuck the haters, keep on trying ambitious shit, you’ll get as good as the effort you put in! I fucked up my first couple attempts at this sauce, keep trying. The steak looks great!

As a long time chef I would not say this is a bastardized version rather than just a non-traditional version. Countless restaurants serve steak au poivre with cuts other than the filet. Otherwise, looks good
