I decided to try G.D. Vajra Barolo tonight, and I'm pleasantly surprised! This is my first serious dive into Italian wines, as I usually gravitate towards French.

I'm finding the Barolo quite intriguing. There's a subtle sweetness balanced by a refreshing dryness, creating a really captivating flavor. I think this is what people mean by 'mouthwatering acidity' – it makes you want another sip!

Cheers everyone!

I almost bought that bottle today! I’m a big fan of that producer and did buy two bottles of their Langhe Rosso which is my favorite weekday bottle. Now I’m really tempted to crack one open! Enjoy!

Going to a Spanish tapas place for a birthday dinner in a bit. Definitely getting a nice Tempranillo to enjoy there.

Vajra is a fabulous producer, and their Albe Barolo is among the best values in Piedmont.

Interesting, I just brought home a bottle of that from my wine of the month club, haven’t had it before, but looking forward to trying it once my dry January is complete.

Had my time with young Barolo. No more infanticide for me. Spanish Garnacha -Honoro Vera from Calatayud. Nice for $8. Spain has been my go-to for a few years

Assyrtiko – Monograph. It’s not as weird as I was expecting, but there’s this slate stone with a lil algae aftertaste. I don’t know if I like it or not.

  8. Been on my mind all day and still haven’t decided.

Cheers to all! No wine tonight. I’m on a cocktail kind of night.
