Honestly, I do eat quite well at home as well. I cook for my mom and brother once a week, after we get groceries together. She pays, I cook. Great deal for the both of us. And it usually results in having 2 leftover portions I can take home and put in the freezer. And on the rare occasion I do have to cook at my own home on a day off I like doing so. I’m the kind of cook that would come home after an evening shift, and still cook myself at least a decent and healthy, but easy, dinner.
Then again, my love for cooking is the only thing keeping me in the industry. If I didn’t love it so much I wouldn’t be able to handle being a professional cook. Hours too long, stress too high, energy usage (both physically and mentally) too high. If I didn’t have my love for cooking to off-set all of that I would have bailed out within a year. 😛

Prepping my meals to last a few days helps so much instead of just hoping I have the energy to cook when I get home

Throw some fresh tomatoe and a couple anchovies on there and you got a glamour dinner

Add some prosciutto or smoked salmon and you are eating like a royal.

This post was recommended to me and I instinctively just clicked away. Had to come back to compliment your excellent scotch choice. The 15 year was always my celebration bottle when I drank. The dalmore is a cut above without the name recognition or frills. Good taste.

Dalmore is one of my all time favorite whiskies. I have a bottle of 18yr and it’s amazing.

It’s over now chef, and you made it through another service, but please have a little something more.
The bread to pad your stomach and assuage your guilt is a great first step tho 🙂

If that’s sourdough, you get more points.
Take care of yourself, chef.
