I've always written off Chardonnay as a grape variety that I don't particularly like. I have had some overly oaked or simply uninteresting Chardonnays before but decided that it was interesting to try an entry level bottle from a reputable producer in burgundy. And what can I say, I absolutely love everything about it. It has scents of green apple and citrus fruit, paired with a few lightly roasted nuts and has a lovely, very mellow taste of butter. Great texture and a perfect balance between brightness and creaminess. I’ll be checking out more ASAP. Please feel free to share your recommendations at around below 100$/€ (Also would like to try out Chablis).

Love to see somebody get converted. My favourites that are reasonably prised are.
For Chablis Samuel Billaud. His whole range is great, but I particularly like his Grand cru bottelings, Montee de tonnerre and Mont de Milieu. For me, my second favourite Chablis producer after Raveneau.
Domain Jessiaume is a producer that recently got taken over and appointed a great young winemaker.
For a new wave style that’s affordable, I do really like the wines from Chantereves. Like lots of the new cult domains, they have a more natural style of approach. Though, the wines stay clean.
And a list with a little bit of less explanation.
