I don’t know about price wise but I like ole reliable Metropolis coffee, especially going to their cafe in edgewater

I think Sparrow has the best beans around and you can buy them at their roastery for super reasonable price

Dark matter will give you a free coffee if you buy the beans there

Dark Matter has some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life. But they are also more expensive than some of the others out there. Bridgeport Coffee is not bad and less expensive.

The good stuff is always expensive imo. Metric is my favorite right now.

Happy Monday – you can buy a 5 lb bag for $50. Costco has local coffees now – metric, 2 brothers, and collectivo (close by but not chicago)

Go to Whole Foods and check roast dates.

Also, not in Chicago, but S&W roasting in Indi does a far better job and at a lower price than most Chicago roasters. They are pretty light though so if you enjoy a medium roast, it’s prob not for you.

Am I the only one that doesn’t like Sputnik? I thought it was some of the worst coffee I’ve ever had.

Lot of confident responses for an odd original post with 0 context and a weird blurry image of coffee

I have a bean in Wheaton does amazing roasts, otherwise Two Brothers in Costco

Great selection with decent prices at Garden Gourmet!

What does reasonably priced mean? You get what you pay for. For high quality, ethically sourced coffees any of Chicago’s local roasters are great. Though not local to Chicago, Colectivo is probably the best for your $. Anything cheaper than that gets into low quality and questionable sourcing.

I really like Stone Creek coffee up in Milwaukee. For me a they offer a very good price/quality ratio and I love their single origin beans. Might not be the cheapest, but I always enjoy what I get from them. Even with shipping included it’s still a good price.

It ain’t cheap but Tala up in Highwood (new one at the Metra station in Winnetka, also in Libertyville) roasts some fantastic beans

Big fan of Mexican Cake from Ffeine. Usually around $13 at Pete’s Fresh Market

Bridgeport Coffee is the best I’ve found so for. I travel the country for work and like to get roasted beans from each locale. I still always come back to Bubbly Creek blend at Bridgeport Coffee.
