Man do I miss this place, Brisket, Texas Hot Guts, Green Chili Pudding. Fun fact John Lewis teamed up with Aaron Franklin in 2010 to start up Franklins Barbecue in Austin Texas before opening Lewis BBQ in Charleston in 2016. What a couple of legends. Dont drive through South Carolina without stopping there.

How some people can pay $400 for the equivalent of this blows my mind

My hot take: If you live on the east coast, you’d have to drive 1,000 miles to get better BBQ than Lewis.

Decent price. Maybe a bit over. But it looks good.

Here for 3 more weeks, so far I’ve had Palmira, the beef cheek sando is incredible, home team and rodney scotts both had decent pulled pork, the hush puppies at Scott’s was incredible.
Lewis is on my next to go list!

If you’re in Charleston you need to try Melvin’s on James Island. It’s imo the best in town.

Lewis’ Hatch Green Chille sauce is fantastic, as a mustard sauce base with a unique kick.
