How are you transporting your cakes? My 3-Layer cakes won’t fit my carrier! There’s got to be a way! B’day cake for co-worker for cake tax.

I usually just do 2 layer cakes because of this issue! I get cake boxes on Amazon and they work like a dream. Someone on here that’s more advanced might have a solution for 3 layers.

    Precious cake!!!

I use a 12x12x6 box and if the cake is too tall I modify the box by bending the lid and making a few cuts to extend the back side of the box up an inch or two. Use lots of shipping tape to make it rigid. Fold the top down and tape that in place. Cover the open gap in plastic wrap and tape all the sides of the plastic wrap down.

I get larger boxes from Amazon or buy a small shipping box from Walmart and cut down 2 sides to make a door, then tape it for transport.

Modify a cardboard box. What’s Rachel’s real age

I have no business buying a $200 CakeSafe, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting it for this very reason. Might be worth looking into if you’re fancy and/or a very frequent baker!

  6. I use shelf liner under the cake board and also under the box I’m transporting the cake in. I also sometimes sit in the back of the car with the cake depending on the size

No matter what I use to transport the cake, I always put double-sided tape on the floor of my van, then set the carrier on that – to prevent any sliding in the car. I think transporting the cake is the most stressful part of the whole thing!

Listen, trade secret from someone who used to work at an ice cream shop. But if you go to a bakery or an ice cream shop that sells cakes and just ask for a box or two, pretty much all of them would just give you one. Maybe a few aholes would make you pay a few bucks, but that’s better than a cake collapsing

I got a box from hobby lobby that looks like a build a bear box. It fits any cake no matter how tall. Even for the six-layer, two-tier one I made for my nieces birthdays.
