Medium plus in length on the finish, with honey notes and herbs.
This is a very tasty sweet wine from Bergerac. Showing nice complexity and good balance.
This 42 year old is feels surprisingly fresh. Well balanced and not very fruit forward, but showing some earth notes.
I had this vintage before and this bottle seems a little better.
Good by itself as a dessert wine, albeit not too sweet. It’s always nice to try these kind of aged wines.
13.6% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Thank you for your tasting notes ! As a gatekeeping French I must nonetheless kindly inform you that this is not a Bordeaux wine, even if the bottle was shipped through Bordeaux 🙂
Happy cake day and enjoy your 42 yo dessert wine !

hate to tell you… its not a Bordeaux

Sorry to be detail focused, but it is not technically Bordeaux. It is similar in style to Bordeaux sweet whites such as Sauternes and Barsac but this is Monbasillac which is from the South West area of Bergerac.
