The price of the official BGE accessories set me back 149 dollars which is pretty expensive compared to the CGS’s version for 60 dollars.
What caught my interest—and my biggest gripe with the CGS version—is the open gaps where the convEGGtor comes in and out easily while the basket sits in the egg.
If you use the CGS expander, you know that taking out the convEggtor is not possible unless you lift the whole thing out to slip the deflector out of the expander.
The quality is very nice and sturdy despite not having a complete ring on top similar to CGS’s expander. It also fits the wok or a smaller grill grate so you can cook on multiple levels.
So if you’ve got the CGS expander and want to easily remove the deflector during your cooks without taking out the whole rig every time, this is for you!
