BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — BOISE, Idaho — Five local chefs have been named semifinalists for the prestigious James Beard Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of the culinary world.”
Boise chefs Rémi Courcenet and Nathan Whitley of Terroir, along with Cal Elliot of The Avery, are first-time semifinalists. In the Sawtooths, Benjamin Barlow at the Stanley Supper Club has secured his second nomination. Meanwhile, in Caldwell, Salvador Alamilla of Amano has earned his fourth nod.
The winners will be announced on June 16 in Chicago, with the finalists set to be revealed on April 2.
Kris Komori, the talented chef at Kin in downtown Boise, is the only nominee from Idaho to have ever taken home the top honor, celebrating his win in 2023.
