I Reviewed MY SUBSCRIBER’S Restaurant In Singapore!
A young woman approached me in a Singapore restaurant, asking if she could cook for me. Despite my packed schedule, I made time—and I’m so glad I did. What I thought would be a quick street food stop turned into an unforgettable experience, uncovering an incredible story and surprising insights about Japanese culture. Let me take you to Kappou, by Chef Aeron Choo.

I feel like this could be the beginning of something much, much bigger and more impactful for Alexander which is shedding light on younger restauranteurs and restaurants that haven’t quite made it into the Michelin spotlight. The Alexander Guide!
First time I saw your video and I am seriously impressed. I placed it in my special file, besides my food file, for a number of reasons.
Nice Omakase restaurant here in SG !
4:00 that is so Chinese i could bet my ass on it.
5:07 that is also Chinese, its the old Chinese way of organizing what to do in a specific time of the year
I don't know how many ATG videos I have seen, but this one is my favorite. It is because this video told a story about a chef through food rather than just showing off execution. People resonate with compelling stories above all. This restaurant seams as prestigious as any other of the restaurants covered here regardless of official accolades.
7:44 is that not ladys fingers-
I have never seen your channel before, but what an amazing story! Stay positive. It's infectious. God bless.
anyone else eating instant ramen while watching this…
1900 dollars for a single meal. I literally spend that on food for 5-6 months
For 1900 I expect her to work for me for at least two weeks lol what an absurd and ridiculous price hahahah
Amazing story! And the way you capture it is on another level!
Bollinger beats both Krug and Dom Perignon. Ar least they own their vineyards.
Many kudos to Chef Choo. She is clearly a multifaceted person of many talents whose baseline is excellence.
Thank you for accepting her invitation and sharing your experience with us. It was a pleasure.
That bluefin had to cost $50k for that little piece 😂 I wish I liked sushi but…yuck
come to australia
i’ll give u bunning snags and a bundy rum
Had a chance to go to this restaurant last week and ALL the other guests were there from watching your video! Kudos!
I was not ready for the bill. Which has the same value of my bank account's balance.
On a more serious note : I cried couple times watching her cook. What an incredible human being.
Really great! I think she deserves a Michelin star or 2
$850 ''small gift''.
I absolutely love this Chef!! Her mastery and attention to detail is awe inspiring. The certs for Sake and Wine are a side story to her food but she treats them just as highly as her dishes.
I'm definitely visiting her restaurant when I go back to Singapore. I'm so happy she convinced you to visit. This and the Fat Duck episode have to be my favourite. It's so heartwarming and only Alexander can convey this beautiful story to this level
At 20 yo she graduated from a top institute and opened her first eatery.
Meanwhile, I got those avocado-toast-obsessed gluten intolerant weaklings around me
Chef Aeron Choo is a beautiful human, wow. She radiates passion and clearly has fun doing what she does. She even has a few drinks and starts to play around in the kitchen, all while still delivering on amazing food. If I'm ever in Singapore, I'll have to visit.
If you invite all three (girlfriend, wife and lover) I recommend doing it in three sittings ……
Alex sounds so much better on mute.
£1900..that's like $3000US… No way on God's green earth am I going to pay that damn much to eat….. That's freakin INSANE !
Although I do get the chefs attention to detail and the quality ingredients she uses …. But still…. That price is just crazy …
Who dis guy?
Wow I’m impressed with your great work respect and stay safe out there
the moment you pulled out the Krug I had a flashback to the first time I bought champagne. it was so good, but I forgot to take a picture of it and didn't remember the name, so I never found it again.
I truly enjoyed the random interaction you had with other guests there
Great and inspiring story! Amazing talent combined with curiosity, dedication and hard work will always pay off.
I enjoyed this Episode the most so far. Some true words spoken at the end. Thank you for this!
I don't know but most of food critic vloger even can't cook..you don't like the food doesn't mean it taste bad, everyone has different tastes.
Fantastic!
How has this video been out this long and the grammar in the thumbnail is still messed up lmao?
