Cooking right now and have never seen this before, the ginger was already peeled and cut into a square. It wasn’t in a separate bag, just in the brown bag like this. Is this ok to use? It smells fine, it’s a little soft and “juicier” but not slimy (it has been freezing out so wondering if it was frozen and then thawed).
The ginger I’ve always gotten, I’ve had to peel and mince/grate.
Is this ok? Has anyone seen this?

That’s usually how my pieces have come…I just slice or mince it 🤷🏻♀️

They cut ginger into the size they send for recipes
This is how it always is for me. I always try to slice off a thin layer on all sides since it’s all been exposed to everything. Then I grate it.
