Last in line at Franklins (they have us “the sign”). Lived up to all expectation. Most Texas bbq is good if it’s at a reputable spot but this was hands down the best brisket I’ve ever had and top 5 sausage. Beans were incredible. Overall vibe was spot-on. Only comparable brisket I’ve had is at Rumps in Tennessee Colony, TX. just outside Palestine. I wore my Franklins shirt to Terry Blacks the day after this pic was taken and the guy said “our is better than theirs!” And my response was, “we shall see”. It wasn’t.

Nice! I’ve definitely gotten good meals with zero wait at Franklin by showing up at lunchtime on a bad weather day and just taking what I can get – brisket is usually gone by that point.
I think Terry Black’s has the better beef rib and sides but nobody on this planet is consistently churning out A+++ brisket like Franklin.
You should try Panther City BBQ if you’re ever around DFW!
Lucky… I was “the last one” last year when I visited. Only thing left was brisket, which was fine because that was my primary goal. I still have my sign hanging in my kitchen.
