After some researching I decided to give the RFX a shot. I had some slight issues getting both my probes to connect but eventually did. Will probably use this on a pork butt first.

Has to be better than my worse than useless Meater Block

They’re fantastic! Good choice by you, OP.

Oooo…. Tempting
But I better give my Meater a few more chances before I spend that much, just so when SWMBO sees it I can justify it

I love that we can live in a time when the words *”Meat / Gateway”* can be used as a product name or description. Personally I thought my first smoker was a *”Meat / Gateway”* since after my first successful rack of ribs it led me into roasts, briskets, turkeys, game hens etc… remember people… only you can protect your children, family or friends from *gateway* meats (by cooking them all yourself).

Keep us posted on how it goes. I invested in 4 Meater blocks due to a lack of other wireless options at the time. The internal probes work ok, but the ambient probes are useless. Connectivity is an issue at times as well, as the wireless range is abysmal. I want to upgrade at some point, and the RFX system looks to be the best option.

I looked at some reviews at that on YouTube. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it doesn’t have a screen on it that tells you the temp as well. I know you can look on your phone but it would have been nice if you are outside next to the grill just to look at a screen on the device itself.

When you do give it a go, I for one would like to know what you think of it. I’ve been eyeing getting one myself, thinking it would also be good for my gas grill rotisserie.
