Does that brisket not even have a smoke ring?

That’s a shame. Lewis had some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had when I went a few years ago.

Is it possible to find good brisket outside of Central Texas?

Are you going to elaborate? From the photo, everything on that tray looks good.

I really enjoyed Lewis when I went. And it was after Rodney Scott’s!

Well going to South Carolina for barbecue was the first ill advised move. Come on up to Eastern North Carolina for the one true pork barbecue.

The sides look good anyway.

I’m surprised you were disappointed. That is probably my favorite spot in Charleston (which is saying something) and some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. Maybe they had an off day.

I’m speaking on an overall experience. It’s not that the food tasted horrible. There was a lack of seasoning on everything, and none of the sides stood out except the greens. The pulled pork and brisket were okay, but the jalapeño cheddar sausages took the show. My wait was about 45 minutes, and I paid $75. Some of the staff were probably the most distasteful out of everything. maybe I just chose a bad day/time.
