Have a couple cherry tomatoe plants that I got from Lowes last spring and haven't stopped producing tomatoes since (SoCal). Was weeding and discovered these clusters on the roots of the plants. What are they?

It looks a bit like root-knot nematode to me.

Nematodes. Plant marigolds with them.

Root Knot Nematodes. They can stunt or reduce the productivity of your plants. If you have major problems, you may need to grow varieties that resist it. Adding compost is also helpful. Problematic in sandy soils.
