I have to share with you that when I sat down and ate this, it brought tears to my eyes. Not only because it was so delicious, but because of how it brought me back to my childhood. While my brother was working on cars in the garage with our Dad, I would be in the kitchen with Mom!
I once asked her to write down this recipe for me…it was 6 hand written pages long! Half a page for the ingredients (after all there are only a few main ingredients). The rest was all technique; she even included drawings of the size of the clams I should use!

Ingredients:
1 dozen small clams
1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 large cloves of garlic
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 cup fresh Italian curly parsley
1/3 cup of what wine
Juice of half a lemon
1/2 lb. linguini or spaghetti
Pinch of red pepper flakes
Salt & Pepper to taste
